Elizabeth Knowles is a visual artist who creates paintings and installations showing the life force of nature emerging as visual patterns. By using organic shapes, vivid colors, and dimensional textural layering her acclaimed animal portraiture conveys the unique personality of each subject.
Elizabeth graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Pomona College in Claremont, CA and received her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has received numerous grants and residencies including: Assets for Artists program at MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA, the Puffin Foundation,Teaneck, NJ, Miami Beach Cultural Council’s Artist in Residency Program, Miami Beach, FL, The E. Born and raised near St. Louis, Missouri, she currently lives and works in New York City and the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut with her husband, Tom and Golden Doodle, Cassidy.
